The complete home teaching set!5
When my daughter started in reception, I was quite aprehensive about her learning to read & spell. I needn't have bothered. This is an excellent teaching system. It is easy for the children to remember, with the "phonic" actions being addictive. My son has started nursery and even he has managed to surprise his teachers with the ease in which he has picked up on the Jolly-Phonic alphabet. This is an absolute must for any parent whose child has just started (or even about to start) school.

Since I bought these books my daughter is constantly pestering me to teach her the next sound/action, even the activites at the back of the book are fun to do!!

Go on, give the teachers a helpling hand and buy these for your little one!

excellent way of learning all round5
After the dramatic switch from Letterland to Jolly Phonics at my daughter's school, dramatic for me not at all for my daughter, I cannot do anything else than praise this way of learning. It not only gives you the sound of each letter e.g. 's' but a picture like the snake with the sound ssss and an action aswell. There is nothing that Jolly Phonics has missed out it covers all aspects of the way a child learns, either by sound, picture or action. My daughter within 2 weeks can now tell me the first letter of nearly all words that we ask her and she is also able to spell a three letter word by sounding it out. I can only praise Jolly Phonics I cannot find a fault with it. My Daughter Bethany is only just 4 years old D.o.B 11/08/97 and I have found it amazing the difference that Jolly Phonics has made compared to Letterland. I'm not saying that Letterland is useless, I'm just saying that Jolly Phonics has a faster learning rate in my opinion.

Excellent way of teaching word sounds5
My child has just started learning the sounds of letters with the Jolly Phonics Method.
My son last year was using a different method and still lacks some of the grasps the basics.
It has taken my daughter less than 3 weeks to learn all the letter sounds, she knew the alphabet already so this really does seem the next logical step.

Product Description

Inside these lavishly tooled pages you'll find lashings of nonsense about Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, including Clarkson's not-awaited fitness DVD, how to get Hammond to open your new supermarket and James's bizarre new sideline in satellite-navigation systems.

Plus, there's heaps of stuff from the TV show including a unique insight into the special clothes worn by the presenters, a behind-the-scenes look at what the guest stars get up to off camera and some rejected ideas for one of Top Gear's most famous tests.

All this plus masses of cartoons, car trivia and a frankly ill-considered puzzle page. What more do you want? A free banana? Actually, that was considered, but they would have gone mouldy and made the warehouse smell. Sorry.

POWEEEER!!!5
If there was ever any proof needed that you don't need to know the slightest thing about cars in order to enjoy Top Gear, this is it. In fact cars are barely given a mention in this rather chunky, moreish book, and believe me, it's for the best. Rarely does a book make you laugh so hard you cry, but this does it several times.

It's hard to describe what this book is. It's a collection of bits and bobs, really, mostly rambling nonsense and fake-articles, but it's so much more than that. Anyone can see that they're taking the mickey, even poking fun at themselves, and it's clear that this book was as much fun to make as it is to read it.

It's crammed with so much, and is full of little details that make sure you always spot something new every time. Some standout moments for me are the 'Everything can be fixed with a Hammer' article, 'James interviews the Stig', and 'The Power of Literally', but really, there's too many to count, and every page is as stupidly funny as the last.

The front cover says they're 'slightly on fire', but I beg to differ. This is scorching stuff, and will take you twice as long to read as normal because you'll be blinking back tears of laughter.

As Clarkson would say: 'This could...quite possibly....be THE best book...........................................................in the world."

Top gear, Top book5
If you watch Top Gear for the laughs, I highly recommend you buy this book. As ever with Top Gear, it's funny, noisy, scurrilous, surreal and slightly about cars. I particularly enjoyed the cut-out-and keep Richard Hammond, JC's exercise plan (don't expect to get fit), a great hairstyle chart so you know what series you are watching on Dave, and a 1970s porn film script featuring James May as a plumber (it's not what you might think!). Oh and there's a priceless re-interpretation of Thunderbirds in a comic strip called Top Gear Rescue. Commencing faterization... Hilarious!

Big book of Top Gear5
My husband and I love the show, so I bought this book. I have seen it in the shops as well and it's as daft as the show, making me laugh out loud.

So hard to put down!5
I pre-ordered this book off Amazon as I was currently without a decent book to read. From the moment it dropped through my letter box, I could not put it down. Not only did it look very pretty (a lovely gift for someone), but the first few pages totally had me hooked and I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a book this much. It's another fantastic narrative by Cecelia Ahern, with parts that made me laugh out loud and others that made me want to cry along with the main character.

Cecelia Ahern has a wonderful way of making a reader feel like they are getting a secret insight into someone else's life, their world. Like many who will be reading this review, I've read all of her books now, and it doesn't matter if she's writting from the view of a 16 year old or a 60 year old, she always seems to get it spot on.

This book felt similar in ways to 'A Place Called Here', in that they both have a mysterious, magical element to them. Although I'm (much) older than Tamara, the main character, I felt I could relate to her, and her situation, which always makes it so much more enjoyable to read.

I was so disappointed to find that I had almost finished the book, even though the ending was perfect. I can see myself picking it up and reading it again in the not so distant future! And I will definitely be recommending it to everyone - you won't be disappointed.

Loved it!5
Could. Not. Put. It. Down.
So loved curling up on the sofa with this book and a cup of tea.
Mesmerising from beginning to end.
Loved all the characters, especially The Aunt and Uncle!
The setting was described beautifully, everything flowed, just a brilliant brilliant story. Loved the gold thread bookmark aswell, lovely touch.

A magical story with morals4
I love Cecelia Ahern, so grabbed this book as soon as I saw it in a shop. She's best known for her debut novel, P.S. I Love You, but has also written novels including The Gift, Thanks for the Memories, If You Could See Me Now and A Place Called Here. I think that The Book of Tomorrow, along with P.S. I Love You, are her strongest.

The Book of Tomorrow isn't chick-lit in its most fluffy form. Yes, it deals with love, friendship and family, but it's also a mystery, with some morals thrown in.
